Streve grew up in Malverne, Long Island , New York. He attended Corona Ave. elementary school, Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School, and Valley Stream Central High School. He was a Letterman in Track and field in both Junior H.S and High School. One of his other passions in life was Surfing which he did as often as possible.
